Why should it be free?

I got tickled when reading the responses to an invite on Facebook recently. A seminar was taking place and believe it or not… they were actually CHARGING for it. LOL As I read through the responses I had to laugh at the comments. Seems many folks feel that spiritual teaching should all be done for free.
I wonder if these people realize that spiritual teachers pay the same utility expenses, buy groceries with money, and perhaps even have children who enjoy wearing clothes and living in a home? These guys and gals who think it should be free are the same ones who struggle with money issues. They can’t understand why prosperity seems always just a few more steps away. Do you get it? Do you see the thinking, the energy that creates the reality?
As a teacher and a coach I give away lots of time, lots of information. I also have a child and those monthly expenses, so I understand charging for good and services. My electric company will not accept a few coaching sessions in exchange for my electricity charges, nor will the local market where I shop for food take jewelry or a healing session for groceries.
I do understand some people are having a challenge right now with money, this is why I offer coaching for a donation of your choice now and again. The reason I don’t do it for free? Simple, if you want to experience abundance you want to line up with abundance. Do you understand what I’m saying here? On several levels this Facebook experience is showing us things about ourselves. I noticed in the responses that those who just jumped right in and paid for the tickets were happy, joy filled, excited and experiencing abundance in their lives. Do you see the connection? It’s not just about whether or not spiritual teachers should charge or whether or not you should pay for the time and energy someone invests in walking in the wisdom; it’s that and whether or not you really want to experience abundance.
I’ve noticed time and again that the relationship people have with money, with prosperity, shows up in their talking. Those who fuss about “having to pay for something” are generally the ones who don’t experience much money or joy in life. Prosperity is a challenge for them. They don’t seem to realize that a stingy attitude brings about stingy results. Remember, your thinking/feeling is the energy you are creating with and the energy you create with is always the energy of the creation. So if you build with lack, fear, resentment, guess what shows up? Stuff that represents lack, fear and resentment.
I remember a story of an old and wise Native American Medicine Man who received yet another pouch of tobacco as payment for his services. When asked if this was a good exchange the medicine man replied that the electric company didn’t take tobacco.
Let us today realize a few things.
1. People who teach, coach and offer healing services have the same expenses as everyone else.
2. The energy you create with is the energy of the creation. In other words what you feel during the creation process is going to be the feeling of what you end up with.
3. In order to experience yourself in abundance, you need to experience yourself as abundance.
4. Energy affects energy and money is energy. Exchange it freely with great joy and delight. This opens you up to experience even more of it.
I’d like to remind you that giving is the quickest and easiest way of getting. It throws open the flood gates of abundance in your life. Give with delight, give freely with a joyful heart. Exchange money for all those things you enjoy and watch how abundance shows up in greater quantities.
Teachers, healers, authors, spend time and energy in the “Silence” to bring you messages. This has value. Honor that. Watch your life change as you change your attitude about things.
Whether you call it the law of attraction or creative principle, what you think, feel and do creates more of itself. In it’s likeness it brings forth more of itself. Get that and everything in your life will change.

Turning Challenges into Opportunities

Right now many people are really concerned with the problems they face and that the nation is facing. Unemployment, wars, rumors of more war, wall street playing a money game; it seems almost overwhelming sometimes. It’s really about how we look at and think about these challenges that determines how we feel about them. If you think worrying pays your bills you will keep on worrying and having plenty to worry about. That’s the way the law of attraction working on your behalf all the time plays out.
What you give your attention to with strong feelings get turned into stuff for you to interact with. The real key is in seeing what’s going on then looking for the answers to those very problems within the problem itself. You know that you don’t enjoy being broke, you don’t enjoy worrying about money either. So what is the answer? The answer is hidden in plain sight. You want to experience yourself as prosperous. Now just how do you do that when you don’t have the money to pay your bills?
Reach for the answers hidden in the problem. Start by shifting your thinking pattern. Look around you at all the abundance you are experiencing. Pay attention to that and the feeling of it. Now you are ready to begin putting some thoughts, feelings and actions into use. How can you do something differently than what you’ve done so far? Be creative, let inspiration guide you. What’s that one thing you’ve been thinking about and wishing you could do? Now is the time to give it a whirl.
When you start looking for the answer to the problem within the problem, seeing the opportunities for doing it differently, being different, it gets fun. You are now ready to take some risks, to reach for the stars, to follow those dreams. I heard about a young man who was thought to be the one to win a major race. During the race he injured his leg. As other runners passed him he slowly got to his feel and began hobbling towards the finish line. His father came to help him stand up. When at last the finish line was in sight his father release him and the young man hobbled across the finish line to a standing ovation from the watching crowd.
Sometimes it’s just about going on, moving towards the goals and dreams. Obstacles don’t mean the end of the journey, sometimes they are just the opportunity to do it differently and still cross the goal.
You are the power of change within your own life. Don’t stop. Don’t give up. Keep moving towards those goals, you will achieve them.

What role does fear play?

For some folks fear paralyzes them and crosses their eyes. It’s what keeps them from getting out of the rut and doing what they really want to do. What about you? What role does fear play in your life? Is there a way to learn from what you fear?
Fear serves you well in some cases, it heightens your senses and makes you more aware of your environment. This is good, it works on your behalf to get you out of the way of a rock rolling towards you. Fear also can bring you to a new understanding of what you really want in your life.
Take a few moments and think about what you are afraid of. What message does the fear offer you as a gift? There’s always a gift. Shift your perspective just a bit and look at the present situation with fresh eyes. If you are afraid of job loss, relationships ending, not having enough money, take a new look at what these fears are telling you about you.
What you are most afraid of is linked to a belief that you can shift. These belief programs are within the subconscious running all the time, that’s why the thirty minutes of positive self talk doesn’t bring about much change. Look to these beliefs. Discover the role they play in creating the experiences you encounter daily.
Those situations you feel most fearful about also bring you into awareness of options. Let’s say you are unemployed right now. Fear of poverty may be popping up. Take a different look at the situation. What have you always wanted to do and put off because you had a job that took most of your time? This is really an opportunity to live that dream.
Do you know that millionaires were made last year? That’s right, even with a “repressed” economy, many people became millionaires. They didn’t see a problem and stop, they saw the problem and looked for the new opportunities to create something different. The only limits are the ones you believe are in place for you and your life. Look at things differently and those situations take on a new energy.
Problems are actually a road sign reminding you that there are always options, choices, for new directions, new creations. Fear is like that too. It shows you another side to the story, revealing your power to shift the energy through thought, feelings and actions to create something new.
